The Landes region is an impressive natural destination, blending the blue of the sea, fine sandy beaches, dunes, and pine forests. During your stay in this department, here are the must-see places.

The Huchet stream for a boat trip

Located between the Léon lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean, the Huchet stream is a truly unique place. This 618-hectare waterway flows through the Bay of Biscay and is part of a protected area. Traveling down the stream in a small boat, you'll discover breathtaking botanical diversity while breathing in the scents of nature amidst the water.

Marquèze and its Ecomuseum

To reach Marquèze, you'll first travel through the Landes forest by train. You'll be amazed by the sudden change of atmosphere, as Marquèze transports you directly to the past. The open-air museum is a 19th-century village that has retained its original character. You'll enter period-furnished houses and, during your visit, experience life alongside the locals, participating in their culture, such as playing traditional Gascon games. Various activities are organized for children so they can fully enjoy this adventure full of discovery.

Hossegor Lake

Do you love surfing? Come to Hossegor and its saltwater lake and hop on a board! The lake is part of a protected area which, in summer, becomes a lively spot. During the holidays, Hossegor offers a festive atmosphere with gaming clubs, restaurants, and a variety of unique activities.

Cap de l'Homy beach

This is the perfect place for those seeking a change of scenery and tranquility. The beach is silent; you'll only hear the whisper of the sea breeze as your feet sink into the warm sand. Stretching for 10 km, this wild coastline retains all its authenticity. Park your car in the car park and enjoy a stroll, breathing in the fresh sea air. In the evening, the sunset is magnificent, picture-perfect.
