Lakes and ponds

If you prefer freshwater, the region boasts numerous lakes and ponds nearby. Just a short walk from the campsite, you'll find, for example, the Étang de Léon , where you can sunbathe in peace and quiet or try canoeing or kayaking down the La Palue river . The tourist offices in Vielle-St-Girons and Léon can tell you all about the local attractions and activities if needed. Many facilities are open to help you discover the Landes region along its rivers ( www.aufildeleau40.fr and www.aupontneuf.fr ).

The Landes forest

If, in your opinion, nothing is better for relaxing than a beautiful walk in the forest , hurry and explore the many forest paths and fitness trails in the region : more than 3500 kilometers of routes are at your disposal and, very close to the campsite, the Courant d'Huchet Nature Reserve ( www.reservenaturelle-couranthuchet.org ) is waiting for you!
